PARADISE ON TWO WHEELS

There are places that seem naturally designed for two wheels, and Andorra is one of them. Those of us who compete or go out for a ride for the sheer pleasure of it know that the altitude, the quality of the asphalt, and the network of trails that cross these valleys are on another level.
It is no coincidence that the Principality has become the training ground of choice for many professional cyclists on the world circuit, nor that its roads and mountains are the setting for legendary stages of the Tour, the Vuelta, or the UCI World Cup. Riding here means taking on mountain passes that demand the best version of yourself, but also discovering endless forest tracks and technical descents that force you to maintain maximum concentration. All this with absolute respect for the cyclist on the road and an infrastructure that perfectly understands what you need when you get off the saddle.
Not for nothing, Andorra is "Cyclist Territory"

The disciplines that define cycling in Andorra

If you are planning your next trip, the Andorran territory allows you to change discipline every day without repeating the setting. The country's terrain offers radically different alternatives depending on the type of bike you choose.

Arinsal and La Massana: The strategic starting point

When looking for a base of operations, the parish of La Massana, and specifically the Arinsal valley, position themselves as the country's true cycling epicenter. The reason is logistical: from here you have a direct connection to the territory's most powerful sectors without the need for a car.

Port of Cabús

One of the most beautiful and wild road climbs in the Pyrenees. It is a 21-kilometer constant ascent that starts in La Massana and peaks at over 2,300 meters of altitude, right at the natural border. The last few kilometers run along an impressive mountain ridge.

Arinsal Station

An ideal port if you are looking for a quality workout of less than an hour. It starts from in front of the Hostel and goes up the valley with sustained slopes of around 8%, finishing at the base of the ski resort.

KY Mountain Hostel Arinsal: Designed by and for cyclists

We know that a cycling trip isn't just about pedaling; what happens when you get off the bike matters just as much, if not more. At KY Mountain Hostel Arinsal, we have created the space that we ourselves like to find when we travel with our bikes in tow. Forget the rigidity of a conventional hotel; here you breathe a relaxed atmosphere and share a roof with people who understand your same passion.
At the end of the day, the day is not over. Our common area is the natural place to open a beer, take out maps or GPS tracks and discuss the terrain with other travelers, ask for recommendations on that technical trail, or plan the group outing for the next day.

Specific services for your bicycle

Traveling with expensive equipment requires peace of mind. That is why we have a secure space to store your bicycle: a protected area with controlled access so you can rest easy knowing that your riding companion is safe.
Do you want to travel light or try the latest in technology? Thanks to our exclusive agreement with the bicycle brand Forestal, you can manage the rental of your high-end e-bike directly with us. We offer you special conditions for staying at the hostel so you can enjoy carbon fiber machines designed and developed entirely in Andorra, perfect for making the most of the local trails.
  • When does the peak cycling season start in Andorra?
The ideal time starts at the end of May and lasts well into October. During these summer and autumn months, the mountain passes are completely clear of snow, the high mountain weather is pleasant, and the mechanical lift facilities for bicycles are 100% operational.
  • When does the Pal Arinsal Bike Park open this summer?
The Pal Arinsal Bike Park will be open every day from June 20 to September 13, 2026. In autumn, it will be open on weekends, from September 19 to October 12, 2026.
  • What day does the cycling tour pass through Andorra this year?
The 2026 Vuelta a España will once again place Andorra at the center of international professional cycling with a stage that will be held entirely on our roads, on Tuesday, August 25.
  • Is it necessary to bring pre-installed GPS tracks?
Although the signage on the main routes and mountain passes is excellent, for MTB, Gravel, and Enduro routes, it is highly recommended to have the tracks on your bike computer or mobile phone. At the hostel, we usually share the routes we know best to ensure you don't miss the best trails.
  • Do you have space to store bicycles?
Store your sports equipment safely. We have a secure, locked storage area for bikes. You can sign up for this service at the reception desk on your arrival.
  • If we will be lodging as a group of friends but each of us makes their own booking, can we all be placed together in the same room?
You sure can! Just remember to reserve the same type of bed, but it will depend on availability. If you are a group of friends and you want to be together in the same room, the best thing to do is to contact us directly at info@kyhostel.com and we'll do everything possible to arrange things in accordance with your wishes.
  • Are towels and sheets included?
Towels, sheets and duvets are included in the price of the bed or room. Extra towels are available for a surcharge of 2€ per towel.
